Updates

Hello all!

It's been awhile, yes I know. But better late than never right? I thought I'd write some updates for anyone who actually reads this.

Carter: Will be 4 in a few weeks. He's such a great kid. The terrible 2's were a little rough, and the horrible 3's were a little more than rough, but we've noticed that he's starting to calm down a little bit. He is seriously the best big brother in the world. We knew he was going to be a great big brother but I had no idea he would be this great. Carter has the biggest heart in the world and would do ANYTHING for his "Miss Olivia". He's always making sure that she's happy and shares all his favorite things with her. Don't get me wrong though, he still goes through times where he likes to pick on her and take her toys, but luckily that's not too often.

Carter's favorite things; bananas, watching Netflix or playing games on Daddy's tablet, cake, poles and trees, birthday parties, peeing on trees, the ocean, his grandparents, baths, camping, water puddles, anything sweet, Spiderman, dancing, and of course his little sister.

Olivia: Oh boy does she have her own personality. And it's a BIG one! She's cute and she knows it for sure. And she's such a ham. She's a great kid though. She’s learning new words every day. I can't even count the words that she knows because she's constantly saying new ones. Her most said words would be; mamma, daddya, dog-dog, Carter, Coco, more (this is a heavily used word as she is a big pig), yeah, ball. There's more. Like yesterday she said Santa when we were reading a Christmas book. She's fun, always keeping us on our toes. And like I mentioned before she's a pig. She eats more than Carter at times. But she's still tiny. At her 15 month appt she was only 19 pounds 6 ounces. I don't remember how tall but she was 50th percentile for height, 25th percentile for weight, and something like 75th percentile for head circumference (haha, she's her father's daughter for sure).

Olivia's favorite things; eating, making a mess, animals, brushing her pretty hair, baths, dancing, holding her babies, sleeping (still takes two naps a day), singing, being outside, her big brother Carter, tickling people, Mickey Mouse, and playing doctor.

Cutest brother and sister in the world!!

Finally an update!

I can't believe it's been almost 7 months since I've updated. Olivia will be 9 months old next week. She's crawling, babbling, has three teeth (with a fourth on the way) and already standing up while holding onto things.

So much has happened since my last post. Unfortunately, because I can hardly remember what I ate for breakfast this morning I'm not going to be able to go very far back with the updates. I can do a week, but only because big things happened.

For starters we had our first trip to the emergency room last Friday. Carter tripped at day care while he was running down a hill and he hit his head on a rock. Lots of crying and 12 staples later he was almost his normal self. He's a champ! Staples come out this Friday, that's going to be interesting.

Then last weekend Grant and I ran TWO 5k's. Saturday was a small 5k in Red Bluff, which was my first 5k and Grant's second. Then Sunday was a huge 5k in Chico, involving thousands of people. We both did great. I came in at 38 minutes and Grant came in at 43 minutes. We're pretty proud. And my goal for my next 5k is to beat that time.

And that's it. That's pretty much all that I can remember. I should probably say "have a great holiday season" because let's be real, who knows when I'll update again. But no, I'm really going to try to update at LEAST once a month. That's sad, but that's the reality of my busy life right now.

Good day!

Oh wait...I guess maybe I should post some pictures. Haha. Okay I'll leave you with a few.

Okay so I'm too lazy to figure out their exact ages like I usually post...so I'm just going to say, Carter is 3 years, 4 months and like 7 days or something, and Olivia will be 9 months old in 2 days. How's that? Yep, works for me!

Our fun weekend

Olivia is such a great baby. She's sleeping great, eating better and finally not screaming her head off every time time she rides in the car. Oh and she's been sleeping in her crib now for about a week. We're both getting more sleep because of it. She had been sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed but every little movement she made I heard, so sleep wasn't great for me. And she was getting woken up in the mornings when Grant was getting ready for work. So it's much better now. And she had another great night of sleep last night; went to bed at 10pm, up at 5am for a bottle, then she went right back down and she's still sleeping now. If only Carter would sleep past 7am. :)

Here's one of Olivia's 2 month picture

I had a really hard time picking which 2 month picture I liked best. My favorite ones she's not smiling in. I like the cute little look on her face in this one though. She is such a happy baby, smiling all the time and she started  laughing. It's so cute. My favorite is when she wakes up in the morning because when I go into her room to get her she is all smiles. Melts my heart.

The weather was SO nice this weekend. Grant helped a friend build a fence all weekend so it was pretty much just me and the kids. Saturday we went to a friends house then took a nice walk to the Choo Choo Train Park (Carter's favorite park). I found out Olivia likes to face forward in the Baby Bjorn.

Then yesterday the kids and I went to a nearby town and hung out with one of my best friends. We went shopping, went to lunch then to a big park. Both of the kids did great all day.

Oh and we had ice cream :)

Awwww sleep...sweet sleep!

Since we switched Olivia from soy to regular formula this week she's been sleeping so much better. It seems she has a sleep routine going; bottle at 10 pm then bed, then she'll sleep until around 4 or 5 am, have another bottle, then back to bed until 7 or 8 am. Not too bad for a 2 month old. I believe Carter was on a very similar schedule at this age and he ended up sleeping through the night at 3 1/2 months old so sounds like Olivia is on the right track. Yay!
